Kernel Rain — Privacy Policy

GoToIX ("we", "us", or "our") built Kernel Rain as a commercial macOS application. Kernel Rain does not collect, store, sell, or share personal data. The app contains no advertising, analytics, tracking technology, user accounts, or network service.

1. Local Settings

Preferences such as speed, density, color, background, and trail appearance are stored locally in the app's sandboxed container. They are used only to restore the visual experience you selected.

2. Optional Screen Capture

If you select the Current screen background, Kernel Rain asks macOS for Screen Recording permission and captures a snapshot for the visual background. The snapshot is processed on your Mac, held only in memory while needed, never written to disk by Kernel Rain, and never transmitted.

3. Information We Do Not Collect

• No names, email addresses, accounts, or contact details
• No analytics, usage telemetry, advertising data, or identifiers
• No location, browsing history, or diagnostic reports
• No captured screen images or visual content

4. Data Sharing and Third Parties

Kernel Rain does not send data to GoToIX or any third party. The app includes no third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs.

5. Retention and Deletion

Kernel Rain retains no user data on our servers because it has no network service. Local preferences can be removed by deleting the app's container data or uninstalling the app.

6. Children's Privacy

Kernel Rain is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children or anyone else.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy when the app changes. Any revision will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
